No loss for the 2nd week in a row, I only worked out once and played basketball once and also didnt really track my points religiously.  I need to workout and track my points in order to keep dropping weight.  210 by Thanksgiving is probably out of reach, but as long as I can get back on the losing track I will be happy.  Is is a marathon and not a sprint!

We did go out for the first time in eons.  I enjoyed some cold beer and ate too much On the Border, then another cold one at Emerson Biggins.  Had a good time with Jessica and Jared, we need to do that more often.

My damn laptop died, the hard drive is toast.  I have tried ran HW diags, chkdsk, and even tried using bartpe to mount and view the data….nada.  I figure I will mess around it some more before calling it a total loss.

Watching the Packers and Vikings on ESPN HD.  The Metrodome crowd is amped and it is LOUD!

I didn’t lose any weight last week and am okay with that.  I ate bad and didn’t exercise as much as I should have.  Today marks the beginning of a new week and I will stick to the plan daily and will exercise like a mad man.  Hopefully it will all add up to a nice loss by next Monday.

It feels good to be down 57.4 pounds.  I tried on a pair of 38-inch waist slacks and fit into them (In Feb. I was in a 44 with the stretchy waist, Daaaaamn!).  They were a little snug for my comfort so I am going to wait a few weeks before I buy some new clothes.  I don’t want to squeeze into tight pants and show everybody my package. :-)  My goal is to wear the 38s for a couple of months and work my way down to a 36 or maybe a 34.  I need to buy something quick because my current pants are too baggy and bunch up real bad around my waist. I will be hitting up Kohls and JCP so I can catch the pants during a good sale, wish me luck.

I am “playing” basketball in a YMCA league and we are 0 – 2.  We are like the basketball version of the “Bad News Bears”.  Hopefully we can pull it together and win a couple of games.  I am sure we look like a bunch of jokers out there, but it is great exercise and is a lot of fun.

Keep an eye on the Twitter feed to the right during the week and check back next Monday for another exciting post. ;-)

Weekly weigh in

I weighed in at 229.6 this morning, down 1.4 pounds and 57.4 total.  This brought me below 230 (barely) and took me to 20% weight loss since February.  I am happy about the loss but wish it would have been 2 pounds or more lost.

I have been playing more basketball recently, which is great.  I love shooting hoops and it is terrific exercise.  I have slacked off on running though and need to pick it back up.

I hope to have a good week this week and will update my Twitter status throughout the week.  Take care.

I weighed in at 231 today, 2 less than last Monday and 56 less than I was way back in February.  How did I celebrate you ask?  Like any fat guy would, I dove off the deep end and had a Bleu Ribbon burger and a bunch of steak fries from Red Robin.  :-)   I found that I actually struggled to finish it.  Either Way, I have a week to work it off and figured that I have to indulge from time to time.

I have not been running as much lately, but have been shooting hoops more.  I played for 6 hours last week and realize that I don’t recover as fast as I used to.  I am sore!!!  I will pick up on the jogging or working out this week and will tweet when I do so.   Last week was my 4th straight week with 30+ activity points earned.

Anyway, I didnt lose 3 pounds last week like I wanted.  I am not going to let that stop me though.  210 by Turkey day is agressive, but I think it can be done.  Still the optimist (remember I wanted to be 230 by 8/31 and I am not there yet).  The key thing is I keep losing weight.

-2 more, 54 total

Sorry for not posting an update last Monday.  To catch you up, I broke even and didn’t lose any weight, nor did I gain any.  I ate like hell and did not deserve to drop any, it is a good thing I was so active or I would have probably gained a pound or two.

Today I weighed in at 233 pounds and am back on track.  I lost 2 pounds last week, for a total of 54 pounds since 02/16/09.  While I missed my goal weight of 230 by the end of August, I am still feeling good and progressing forward.  I should have started exercising a long time ago. :-)

You will soon see my goal weight change to 210 pounds; I am going to start setting goals at 20 pound increments.  I figure if I maintain/increase my activity level and drop 2 pounds a week, I may hit that goal by Thanksgiving.  Just in time to gain 5 or 10 back! J/K!  Yes, I know it is optimistic to think I can lose 23 pounds in 11 weeks, but I really think I have a chance as long as I remain active.

See you next week.  I am going to bust my ass and try to drop 3 pounds this week.

Boo Yea!  I weighed in at 235 even this morning, for a loss of 2.4 more pounds.  That brings my total loss to 52 pounds!  The running has helped a bunch and I enjoy it.  I have been also been taking my lunch to work, and we have been cooking dinner at home instead of going out.  I am getting into a good groove and am feeling good about it.  I am having some problems with my shins though and have not ran since Friday, planning on giving them a try tomorrow to see how they hold up.

I changed the layout of the progress pics page, be sure to check it out.  Keep an eye on my Twitter updates to the right to see exercise progress.

Today marks 6 months for me on Weight Watchers. I weighed in at 237.4 today, -2.8 more and am officially down 49.6 pounds.  I did good all week except for Saturday.  We went out to eat, I had a Dos XX Amber (good beer), chips and salsa, and fajitas.

If you have been paying attention to my Twitter, you will see I have been running and feel really good about it so far.  I even went twice on Sunday!  I am closing in on my second goal of 230 and hope to be there soon, then it is on to 190 or so.  :-)

240.2 this morning, 46.8 total.  Nice to be back on track after being out of town.  I am also kicking up a notch on the exercise and have been tweeting my activity (look to the right).  230 by the end of the month is going to be a stretch, but I will get there eventually.

I have been jogging/walking more and really enjoy it, that is going to be my primary form of exercise for a while.  If the weather is bad I will hit the elliptical machine.  Hopefully next week I will be down 2 - 3 pounds.  Wish me luck.

update

I have been doing pretty good when it comes to eating. Last week I broke even though, partly because I was traveling and ate out every meal, partly because I didnt have a scale to weigh in on Monday. I weighed in on Wednesday morning and was the same as my previous weigh in; 241.2 pounds.

Before I left I started walking/jogging and am feeling good about it. I went again tonight and did 2.5 miles in 29 minutes. I run for a bit and walk for a bit.

Last time I flew was in January, I was near needing the seatbelt extension, I was barely able to get it buckled and didnt have much room to spare, maybe an inch. Last Thursday when I boarded my plane to Houston I easily buckled up and had at least 6 inches to spare on the seat belt. That feels good folks, just thought I would share that with you.

Something new

I setup a twitter account. You will see updates to the right under quick thoughts. I was reluctant to “Drink the Twitter Kool-Aid” but did so anyway. :-) We will see if it wears off.

I am starting to walk/jog and hope to stick with it. I am going to try to go running/walking daily. We did 2 miles yesterday and I did 2.5 today. I will tell you that I feel like a I get a WAY better workout doing this versus using the elliptical. Keep an eye out for updates.
